Ricky Martin makes 1st public appearance after admitting he's gay

MANILA, Philippines - Ricky Martin received a standing ovation as he made his first public appearance since revealing his homosexuality.

The former “Menudo” Star stepped on stage at the Billboard Latin Music Awards in his native Puerto Rico where he was warmly received by his peers.

The pop star's attendance marked the first time he's been seen in public since he “came out” as gay on his website on March 29.

Martin shot to fame through his raunchy songs such as “Livin La Vida Loca,” which featured scantily-clad females in the music videos.

Before admitting he was gay, Martin was seen as a Latin sex symbol.
