Suns’ point-guard Steve Nash started the game strong with 17 points in the first quarter and finished with 33 points and 10 assists to lead Phoenix to Game 1 vcitory against the Spurs. Nash said, “I was fortunate to get opportunities early to be aggressive.”
Jason Richardson also had a great game and had 27 points while Amar’e Stoudemire finished with 23 points and 13 boards.
San Antonio’s big three performed well in Game 1 but came up short. Manu Ginobili led the Spurs and scored 27 points. Tony Parker finished 26 while Tim Duncan added 20 points and 11 rebounds.
